90 min class, Wednesdays 4:00 - 5:30 pm 5 weeks, for a total of 7.5 hours of total class time! Level 3- Atelier Age 11- 18 Dates: May 13, 20, 27, June 3, 10 Art Show June 10 Modeled after a traditional atelier structure, this small-group course continues to emphasize strong foundational skills in drawing and painting through problem-solving and artistic discipline. Designed for ages 11-17 to deepen their skills and technical abilities while growing confidence in decisions and finished work. Artists aged 18 are welcome to join us as well- more advanced challenges can be issued if ready. Skills are taught through demos, practice, conversation, and class critiques. Artists learn to "see" with artists' eyes and be fully immersed in developing their true personal style. -Technical skills (Value, proportion, perspective, and composition) -Painting techniques (brush use, layering, and color theory) -observation and critical thinking skills -confidence building through discussions and critiques, and an art show A maximum of 9 students in class, to ensure each artist receives individualised guidance in a safe environment. Wednesdays. 4 - 5:30 5-week sessions or 10-week enrollment available with a discount limited to 9 students Each course is filled with NEW projects, so you can continue to learn all year long (every year) from state-certified K-12th gr art educator, and practicing BFA artist Mary Shadbolt. Art Materials: A list of art materials will be emailed to bring in a labeled zip lock bag to the 1st class. Cancellation Policy
Unless otherwise noted, classes are recommended for beginner to intermediate levels. Artists should be enrolled within their school age groups. **Class is for age 7 and up** NO exceptions. Summer camp is for age 7 & up. Age varies for workshops- note descriptions. No water bottles or food permitted in the studio. No make-up Classes at this time. Artists missing a class/workshop do so at their own loss. No refunds or prorates for missed classes. Our Policies for Class, Camp, and Workshops can also be found on our website https://www.artclasswithmary.com/policies -Individuals who withdraw from their course (6-week art class) within 2 weeks before it begins, may do so less $35 processing fee. -An enrolled student withdrawing 1 week before, or after, it begins will receive no refund, unless outstanding circumstances exist (e.g medical condition with Dr note, or extreme family emergency). However credit can be extended to a class of equal value, minus any classes attended and less a $35 processing fee. -$35 fee to change summer camp weeks IF there is availability Art Camp Withdrawl/Refund Policy: * If notice is given 90 days or more before the start date: full refund is given less a $35 processing fee. * If notice is given 60 days, before the start date: a refund is given less a $60 processing fee. * With less than 30 days' notice given, no refunds will be given. * Students who fail to show up, will not be refunded. Class cancellations due to inclement weather or unexpected circumstances will be notified via email, and posted on social media.
