This educational art mini-course is for artists to learn how to layer, block our areas, and create texture. Animal Portraiture has always been an integral way for us to visually learn about our world. From Neolithic Cave Paintings, to the illustrations of Charles Darwin. Tweens & teens, join us in learning how to paint a portrait of YOUR pet! (or friends!) Over the span of 4 consecutive weeks, we will paint an amazing pet portrait. All while continuing to learn proper brush techniques, blending, blocking, textures, some color theory and more. Because this course focus' on PAINTING, a light drawing of your pet will be drawn on the canvas for you before your arrive. The drawing is formed from the photo that you provide. This offers a guideline for painters to begin focusing on their layering, blocking, and textures. * It is important that the artist attend all 4 weeks in order to complete their painting start to finish. What do we need from you? VERY IMPORTANT: 1-2 clear photographs of your pet! Please send these ASAP, Deadline is 1 week before class begins. What makes a good photo? 1. lighting 2. mostly the head and neck 3. pretend your pet took a selfie- that's what we want! 4. email your 1-2 pet images 1 week before class starts so we can get your canvas prepped and ready to begin! Email: While we do have aprons that artists are encouraged to wear, we are painting with acrylic so dress for mess! Again, the dates are February 28, March 6, 13, 20 and artists will be working on their portraits throughout ALL 4 sessions, so must attend all dates.
